a year agoI’ve dealt with valuers for years, and this recent experience has been by far the worst. After engaging a firm for a detailed valuation and paying a $10k deposit, they returned two months later with nothing more than a desktop report. The quality was so poor that it was almost impossible to decipher. I shared my thoughts with them, and they quickly crumbled under the feedback, offering to terminate the engagement and refund the deposit. Naturally, I accepted the termination and the refund offer, confirming it via email. But, surprise surprise, a few days later they’re now hiding behind some small clause in the retainer, saying they’ll keep the deposit despite terminating the agreement themselves. True gentlemen, right? If you’re in property, think twice before engaging these so-called professionals. Not only are they inexperienced, but they lack the basic integrity you’d expect in this business.
